Tabor House I is a seven-bed group residence and Tabor House II is a six-bed group residence for adult men with HIV/AIDS who would otherwise be homeless.
Tabor House provides a wholesome, safe, and loving home for thirteen homeless people living with HIV/AIDS. Its focus is the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of its residents. Tabor House provides an atmosphere of peace and encouragement to assist residents in improving the quality of their lives.
Tabor House I was founded in 1990 by Sister Laura Herald, a Sister of Saint Joseph, when she saw the need for compassionate housing for men living with HIV/AIDS. In 1997, Sister Laura recognized another population that was underserved and opened Tabor House II for women. Over the years, Tabor House has served over 200 men and women with HIV/AIDS, providing a loving and supportive home for them to manage their disease while promoting the highest quality of life possible for residents based on their individual needs. Tabor House II has recently transitioned to a second men's residence.
Tabor House I and II provide transitional housing to men who are living with HIV/AIDS who have no other housing options. The majority to residents have little or no income, a lack of social support and histories of substance abuse. Applicants to Tabor House must be substance free prior to applying.
