Program
Prospect House is located in Bridgeport. The program provides emergency shelter and scattered site housing for people who are homeless and living with HIV/AIDS. Prospect House also operates an eight bed transitional living center for people who are homeless, living with HIV/AIDS and who have psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. In addition, Prospect House has just been granted the certificate of occupancy for a sixteen bed permanent supportive housing complex called Seaview Apartments. Located on the east end of Bridgeport, seven fully furnished, HUD subsidized apartments will become available to homeless individuals with co- occurring disorders including those with HIV/AIDS.

Mission
The mission of Prospect House is to provide those in need services based on respect, dignity, without regard for individual circumstances. Prospect House exists to provide life’s basic needs: food, shelter, clothing, health care, and a safe living environment.

Background
Regional Network of Programs, Inc. is a non-profit agency that has been providing social services in the Greater Bridgeport area for 30 years. Prospect House Shelter opened in 1983. The SRO’s opened in 1994. In response to the growing need for services for people who are homeless and living with HIV/AIDS, Prospect House began providing HIV/AIDS specific services in 1995.

Population Served
The Prospect House Shelter serves single men and women who are homeless and may be infected with HIV/AIDS. Residents are not required to be clean upon admission. The Single Room Occupancy program serves men and women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those living with HIV/AIDS. Both programs serve individuals from any geographic area. Prospect House also operates a transitional living program
for multiply diagnosed people who are living with HIV/AIDS.
