Chrysalis Center has provided services to persons in need since 1975. The organization has been providing services to persons living with HIV/AIDS since 1990. The Community Housing and Health Services program was designed to provide flexible, comprehensive, wrap-around supportive housing services tailored to meet the needs of individuals (and their families) diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
The mission of the Chrysalis Center is: “Chrysalis Center provides supportive services to assist people in need to transform their lives. Getting help…Getting better…Giving back.”
Chrysalis Center serves adults and families living with HIV/AIDS who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as individuals and families with multiple disabilities/illnesses and those difficult to engage. Chrysalis Center serves individuals and families who reside in Hartford, West Hartford, Bloomfield, East Hartford and Wethersfield.
Chrysalis Center is a host agency for the Corporation for Supportive Housing national demonstration project, Hudson View Commons, and recently, in partnership with the Y.W.C.A, opened “Soromundi
Commons” in Hartford. These projects bring together housing and support services to individuals who are living with mental illness, HIV/AIDS and/or struggling with substance addictions, many of whom have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. Chrysalis Center’s case management services are accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
