AIDS Project Greater Danbury operates a five bed group residence and a scattered site housing program in Danbury. AIDS Project Greater Danbury provides a continuum of services to persons living with HIV/AIDS through the utilization of case management and residential services which provide a comprehensive needs assessment and coordination of community resources that address the bio-psychosocial needs of each client.

The mission of AIDS Project Greater Danbury is to advocate for and provide services to people living with HIV/AIDS, their families, and loved ones and to actively promote AIDS education and prevention in the community.
Background
AIDS Project Greater Danbury (APGD) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1987 by Dr. Donald T. Evans and a group of local residents motivated by extreme concern for people living with HIV/AIDS and the impact of the AIDS epidemic in the Danbury area. In keeping with our mission and to better serve our community, APGD in 2002, expanded services to include HIV Counseling & Testing, Youth & Community Outreach and Education, and a Needle Exchange Program.
Population Served
AIDS Project Greater Danbury operates a five bed group residence for men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The scattered site program is designed to serve individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families. Applicants must be clean upon admission or be enrolled in an appropriate drug treatment program. AIDS Project Greater Danbury gives primary consideration to individuals in the Greater Danbury area, but will serve those outside of this geographic area.
Services Provided
AIDS Project Greater Danbury provides case management services, advocacy, substance abuse counseling, support groups, and individual counseling. Staff is available by cell phone twenty-four hours a day.
