Richard B. Fried

Fried Family Establishes Endowment

In 2007, Joel Fried and Wendy Rappaport of Canton made a gift of $10,000 to establish the Richard B. Fried Fund for the Connecticut AIDS Resource Coalition at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving in memory and honor of Joel’s brother, Richard. The fund is the biggest individual gift made to benefit CARC in the organization's history. Joel and Wendy have a long-standing history as philanthropists, community activists, artists, and civic leaders. They, along with their two daughters, Nicole and Tracey, are volunteers in both Hartford and their hometown of Canton.

The Richard B. Fried Fund for the Connecticut AIDS Resource Coalition (CARC) is a permanent endowment fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving that provides ongoing support for CARC to advocate on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS in Connecticut to ensure a full range of quality housing and services necessary to maximize their potential and live their lives in dignity.
